Ernest Moore is a graduate from Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle Journalism School, class of 2008. He is also a certified personal trainer, health coach and an author. He became serious about his health and wellness journey once multiple family members of his became diagnosed as prediabetic or diabetic. Also during this time, he had also managed to gain forty unwanted pounds due to stress eating, lack of self awareness, lack of self confidence, and using food as a coping mechanism.
Through trial and error, determination, advice from strangers and personal trainers alike, he was able to lose his added weight, gain his confidence, love his body, and learn more about how his body responded to different foods. After reaching his goals, he decided to become a certified personal trainer in order to help others do the same in a timely fashion.
Beyond teaching clients about the proper mechanics of weight lifting and strength training, he recognized that a major component of becoming healthy was being left out of the gym: habit training. His realization was that regardless of the tools we have or the information that is at our fingertips for our benefit, our habits shape our outcomes in life. With this realization, he then became certified as a health coach and is on a mission to not only show people how to become healthier versions of themselves, but to also help them define what being healthy means to them personally.
