Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at IU School of Medicine and an Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Alexander is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and an Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency. She has been a faculty member at IUEM since 2018. She graduated from the IUSM MSTP (MD/PhD) Program in 2014 and from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency in 2018. She works clinically in the academic health center as well as in community medicine. Her clinical interests include resident education, improving Emergency Department care for sexual and reproductive health issues, and raising awareness of systemic racism and implicit biases in ED clinical practice. Her research focuses on decreasing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) disparities and finding alternative settings for SRH care access. She is also an expert in qualitative research methods. Dr. Alexander also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Indiana State Medical Association and focuses her efforts on policy work around reproductive health issues and HIV prevention and decriminalization.
